Senior Thursday Meeting

The meeting was opened by Ennis Parrish and there were 14 members present. 

The guest speaker was Jim Schaffer from the RAAAS.  He discussed the services of his organization and they are:

          Congregate meal centers

          Emergency assistance

          Employment/training programs

          Emergency home repair programs

          Fan care

          Home delivered meals

          Information referral services

          Long-term care ombudsman

          Senior fraud patrol

          Telephone reassurance

          Transportation

 Virginia insurance counseling assistance program

          Weatherization assistance program

Many questions and discussion followed his presentation.

Next month there will be a party to celebrate one year of meetings.  It will be from 11:30 until whenever at a place to be announced later.

February 28 Chancellor Village will have an open house from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.  Make reservations with Michelle Waller by February 26.

It was discussed that we may have a meeting at Chancellor Village in the future.  We also discussed a proposal to have a visit to the National Air and Space Museum in April or May.  We also discussed having a sedar dinner as well as having a Rabi talk to us.
