I just wanted to remind everyone that our next UMW meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at 7:00 p.m.  It will be held in the church sanctuary.  The goal at this meeting is to put together the Easter baskets for the children at Thurman-Brisben Homeless Shelter.  As of today, there are currently 19 children there aged 10 and under.  There are also five 6th and 7th graders (ages 11-12).  The lady at TBHS suggested that we provide about 20 baskets.  If we want to cover the other children (6th or 7th graders), we would need to do about 5 more.  We can see how much stuff we get and decide then.

 

As far as what all can go in the baskets, she said pretty much anything.  If we provide candies or food, that the individually wrapped items would be great.  They are more lenient in what can be given to the children.

 

We will also be discussing and making final plans for Spud Sunday (March 16) as well as the Fashion Show in April.  Easter egg sales have really taken off.  I know I bought four but still need to get some more of those butter creams.  They are delicious if you haven't tried one yet.

            Our monthly meetings are scheduled for the 2^nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  They will be held in the church sanctuary unless otherwise noted.  We have also designated a theme for each meeting.  Below is a listing of our monthly meetings and their “themes”:

            Dec. 14            Christmas Party (pot luck) w/gift exchange

If anyone can help with the Easter egg sales on Sunday, it would be greatly appreciated.  I will most likely be out of town and cannot help.  Sorry about that.
